". Ensuring equal opportunities is an objective that has not been fully achieved yet. Statistics show where women are at the moment and because the situation is far from being fair, we must make firm decisions. Extending the quota system at private enterprises level throughout the European Union would mean, however, to go very far. Personally, I believe we have a great need for women in the management structures of companies, but also in politics. The change must start, however, with the mental attitude. We must fight against the stereotypes promoted by men, but also by women themselves. Although women make up more than half of the population, they do not seem to be ready yet to elect women to public office. At a practical level, I would suggest we turned more attention to women in rural areas. We can use European funds to inform, train and provide them with employability and well-being perspectives, in order to ensure their economic and social independence. I do not believe that we can continue to question the ability or competence of women employees today, just like we cannot decide on behalf of women in matters regarding their health and the way in which they wish to achieve their full potential, either."@en1
