Triples with object UKIP are principally against the EU taking charge of transatlantic data exchange above Member State cooperation. This particular motion for a resolution we loosely support in the sense that it does empower citizens against the very ‘flexible’ data protection laws of the US. Therefore we voted against the original Green motion for a resolution based on the principle that this should be done by Member States and not the EU. But we abstained on certain amendments that were tabled because it does protect citizens from very loose data protection standards from the US.
