Triples with object This report called for a doubling of the current number of judges in the EU General Court from 28 now to 56 in 2022. Whilst in principle this appears inoffensive, there are budgetary issues to take into account and the proposal represents an unacceptable increase in the budget at a time when the EU is forcing Member States to apply harsh austerity policies. It was for this reason that I voted against the report.
