Triples with object This file is the same as the previous file. It follows on from another file voted on at the last plenary on property regimes of international couples. The resolution asks the Council to notify Parliament if negotiations depart from the framework which has been presented. Similar to the previous files, as these regulations will not affect national family law in the participating Member States, but simply set out opaque rules to determine what jurisdiction is applicable and ensure enforcement of decisions in the case of international matrimonial disputes, I voted in favour. I am disappointed that the Irish Government has chosen to opt out given the added value this could have for citizens and the saving of legal costs.
