Triples with object I voted with my S&D and EPLP colleagues in favour of this report because it underlines the need for simplification of administrative procedures and a better access to financing of SMEs. Furthermore, it stresses the role of local governments which – directly or indirectly – are involved in programme monitoring committees. However, many of the local authorities are still lacking the administrative capacity to properly participate in the OPs. Therefore technical assistance and their early involvement in the discussions regarding the OPs are crucial.
