lpv:spoken text	"Mr President, I identify the provision of aid and effective health services as a priority for those affected by Thalidomide, both in light of their current and future needs. I deeply regret the daily struggles experienced by victims, and I thus support this motion for a resolution as a means to enhance pharmaceutical legislation, transparency in judicial proceedings, and treatment and support for those affected. It is essential that we right the wrongs of failed pharmaceutical monitoring of the past, thus formally recognising victims and providing adequate compensation. In doing so, and establishing a more concrete framework in this area, we may shoulder at least a percentage of the burden experienced by victims. By so doing, we show once again that the European Union, and the European Parliament in particular, stand up for the rights of the downtrodden and victimised."@en1
