I come from a country which has suffered very badly from the economic problems started in 2008. We have not recovered from it. Why is it that we are taxing widows and old people in my country in order to give foreign aid, in many cases in very ill-thought-out situations? It is immoral of any government to tax people to give aid. My nation already gives GBP 9 billion a year through charity donations to charities like Oxfam and so forth, which is already 0.7% of our GDI. We do not need to tax people in order to do that."@en1
