"I voted in favour of the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), as it provides EUR 960 billion in commitments and, overall, represents a good deal for Ireland, which remains a net recipient until at least 2020. The MFF agreement includes a EUR 100 million top-up for the Border, Midland and Western region; EUR 150 million to continue the PEACE programme, which will benefit the border counties; and EUR 1.5 billion in annual payments to farmers and rural communities under the new Common Agricultural Policy. The MFF also includes important programmes to help tackle the enormous problem of unemployment, including funding under the European Social Fund and the new youth unemployment initiative."@en1
