It seems to me that it is a matter for national governments and states to determine the level of scrutiny that takes places there, and I am quite happy that that should be happening in democracies and democratic states throughout Europe. So far as I am concerned, proportionality is of course part of this, but I have no reason to believe that there is not proportionality. What is not proportional, however, is the behaviour and reactions of certain political groups, including your own, in this House. That is not proportional.
