The European Parliament introduced the idea of ‘Eurobonds’ in the texts concerning the governance of the eurozone (‘6 pack’) for multiple reasons: - to ensure sustainable budgetary discipline, founded on liquid markets, which reflect the respective situations of the Member States; - to provide liquid and safe assets for investors, drawing on the benefits of the euro’s potential on the world markets; - to protect the ECB by allowing it to focus on monetary policy."@en1
