Macedonia is a geographical area. One part, the biggest part, belongs to the Hellenic Republic. Another part belongs to the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and a third part belongs to Bulgaria. There are therefore three states and three nations in one area. One nation, however, and I would emphasise this, is claiming a monopoly both over the name and the language and the history of that area.
