"In its communication on the Annual Growth Survey 2012, the Commission sets out its priorities for economic and fiscal policy and the reforms intended to promote job creation and sustainable growth for the Member States over the coming 12 months. This presentation marks the start of the second European Semester. Parliament’s report on this matter simply confirms all of the proposals presented by the Commission, which insists on fiscal consolidation by reducing deficits and debt as one of the main means of emerging from the crisis and ensuring subsequent growth. However, this principle will jeopardise all of the other measures proposed for growth, as it will restrict the levels of investment required. I voted against for these reasons."@en1
