"I endorsed the very important European Parliament resolution on women entrepreneurship in small and medium-sized enterprises because I support all measures which benefit women. Amongst other things I have done, I am the founder of an association in Poland called which teaches women how to live a better, smarter and more enjoyable life. Unfortunately, in my country, it is still definitely more difficult for women who run firms than for men. Firms run by women cannot count on being given the same conditions for loans as those run by men. Therefore, it is extremely important that the Commission, the Member States and regional and local authorities make better use of the opportunities for finance available to women entrepreneurs, such as the European Progress Microfinance Facility, grants, social security schemes and interest rate rebates, for example. Also important is an information campaign for women about the European Progress Microfinance Facility and all the opportunities for finance which this instrument offers. I would like to call for particular attention to be given to the situation of older women and for help for them in setting up their own businesses. It is also important to increase support for vocational training programmes directed at women employed in the small and medium-sized enterprise sector of industry and to give support to research and innovation as part of the Seventh Framework Programme and under the provisions of the European Charter for Small Enterprises."@en1
