lpv:spoken text	"Mr President, I am pleased to note from Commissioner Damanaki’s reply that aquaculture will play an important role in the new common fisheries policy. I should just like to point out to the Commissioner that there are huge opportunities for job creation in the development of aquaculture, particularly in areas where there is a very high rate of unemployment. I believe that the Commission can play an important role. It can take the lead in communicating the Commissioner’s views to the Member States and in suggesting to the Member States that although we cannot compromise on the quality of food, we certainly should ensure that one body in each country will deal with aquaculture rather than cross-cutting through various departments and agencies."@en1
