"The European Social Fund (ESF) is the instrument
that allows the creation of new employment and job opportunities, the promotion of the adaptation of workers’ skills to the demands of the labour market, and workers’ integration into the labour market, along with reinforcing social inclusion. It is therefore vital for the European Union to achieve the objectives set out in the Europe 2020 strategy in the field of social and employment affairs. Thus, the strengthening of this important instrument is essential for us to bring the outlined strategy properly to fruition, reinforced by support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which are the driving force behind the whole economy and primarily responsible for economic and technological development, as well as the creation of jobs."@en1
