"Mr President, it is hard to believe that we are one year on from that terrorist attack in Brussels that morning, when it came to the heart of Europe. These attacks were carried out at a time of the day when they were designed to cause maximum harm, damage and mayhem. The thing that we always have to consider on occasions like this is what the families of the victims and those who have survived are probably going through as they relive that memory. I certainly welcome what the Commissioner is going to do on money laundering, drugs and areas like that because this is, to a large extent, what many terrorists use to actively fund their programmes. Certainly, violence and terror can never be justified nor used as an argument to achieve anything. I listen to a lot of comments, but I will leave you with one thought and that is that the victims are more important than the victim-makers."@en1
