The work programme and activities of the Petitions Committee are dictated by the petitions which are submitted to it by citizens exercising their right to petition the European Parliament. The activities of the committee for 2015 are outlined in this annual report. It also includes other important aspects such as relations with other EU institutions and national authorities; some obstacles in the treatment of petitions such as the Commission’s strict interpretation of Article 51 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights or the need for greater transparency on infringement procedures. The report also calls for improvements in the petitions web portal where citizens can upload their petitions."@en1
