"Labour MEPs voted in favour of the report, which identifies key areas of concern in relation to the situation of fundamental rights. Against a backdrop of significant increases in hate crime (particularly in the UK before, during and after the referendum) it is essential that efforts are made at EU, national and local level to counter extremism and promote respect for diversity. It is important that Member States work together and uphold solidarity by tackling areas of common interest to strengthen democracy and fundamental rights across the EU."@en1
