lpv:spoken text	"I supported the agreement reached over this file and therefore voted against an EFDD amendment to reject the text. My rationale for supporting this file was that the negotiations secured sanctions for vessels violating the Regulation on Deep-Sea Fishing and a stipulation that no exemptions would be granted to certain rules. Inter-institutional negotiations agreed that there should be no bottom trawling below the depth of 800m, which should ensure protection for vulnerable deep-sea marine ecosystems more effectively. New transparency rules will also be introduced that include requirements to make information available to the public on European vessels targeting deep-sea species and to report all catches. This will result in enabling allowed fishing areas to be adapted."@en1
