The good elements of the report include allowing Algeria to access EU programmes, access funding, remove travel and visa restrictions and promote cultural awareness. However the main part of the agreement is about promoting neo-liberal financial arrangements aimed at trade liberalisation. This, on top of the fact that Algeria currently has a poor human rights record, meant that I abstained on the final vote."@en1
