There is no legal basis for requiring goods that are unloaded or transhipped to be presented at the point where they re-enter the customs territory of the European Union after having temporarily left it. Given the critical element for authorities to ensure safety, I support the essentiality that both import duty and other charges are correctly levied and suitably apply non-fiscal measures such as sanitary controls. This regulation should enter into force as soon as possible in order to ensure effective supervision of goods."@en1
