"I voted in favour of this resolution on the temporary freeze of the ongoing accession negotiations between the EU and Turkey. This resolution is based on the serious concerns and state of emergency currently in Turkey. The Turkish Government are in breach of the principles of liberty, democracy, respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. I strongly condemn the disproportionate repressive actions taking place there and call for President Erdoğan and members of the Turkish Government to restore the rule of law and human rights throughout the country."@en1
