"The humanitarian situation in Syria has worsened in the last year. The actions of ISIS/Daesh in the region are deplorable and the international community, including the European Union, should work together in order to find a peaceful solution to this conflict, which has claimed countless innocent lives. I support the calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities in the area so that desperately needed humanitarian aid can be provided. The European Union should seek to take a leading role as a peacemaker in the region and aim to assist Syrian civilians in need of help."@en1
