While I think that the safety of European citizens is of paramount importance, and equally, that they should not be subject to propaganda and misinformation at the hands of foreign entities, I do not believe it is appropriate to class ISIS/Daesh on a par with the Russian Federation. In doing so, we risk legitimising and recognising the terrorist group as the government of the area in which they exert de facto control."@en1
