"I voted in favour of this Green Paper on Retail Financial Services that calls on the removal of unnecessary barriers in the European retail financial market. The aim of this report is to improve choice, transparency and competition in the retail financial services sector to the benefit of European consumers through true cross-border supply of these services, so that financial firms can make the most of the economies of scale in a truly integrated EU market. Furthermore, the report took into account the impact of digitalisation on retail financial services with a view to allowing for growth of innovative solutions in this area in the EU."@en1
