lpv:spoken text	"I voted in favour of the report which offers a valuable contribution to the debate on how public support can best reflect the needs of rural economies. It addresses the question of falling rates of employment in the primary sector following the advances in intensification of European agriculture. The report also introduces a range of tools to stimulate employment beyond agriculture. Importantly, the report points out the role of local, bottom-up initiatives such as the LEADER approach which can galvanise the support of local communities and help orientate public funds where they could be most effective in enhancing entrepreneurship, and employment for the young generation, for example. The report also emphasises the role of women in rural areas as well as the unique contribution from non-agricultural sectors, such as forestry, arts and tourism to the sustainability of remote communities."@en1
