It seeks to increase EU intervention and increase environmental regulation on farming, whilst simultaneously reducing the burden of bureaucracy on farmers. It adds further targets and objectives. The non-legislative own-initiative report seeks to assist rural job creation, but to achieve this would require more taxpayers’ money. I do not oppose taxpayers’ money being spent on farming subsidies, but this should be done by the United Kingdom directly, not through the European Union. The comments on refugees are ill-conceived and confused; there is no reason for a report on rural job creation to discuss the refugee situation. I therefore voted against this rather confused report."@en1
