lpv:spoken text	"I would like to express my deep concern for the situation in Turkey and the situation of journalists there, particularly in the Kurdish regions. The recent coup is no justification for the ongoing government crackdown against civil society and media outlets. This dismantling of democracy is unacceptable. Turkey must release all political prisoners, re-open all media outlets, and end violence and persecution of Kurdish communities. I have recently returned from a fact-finding mission in Diyarbakir, where I saw some of the impacts of the intimidation and violence in the region first hand. Working together with civil society organisations, local activists, human rights defenders and journalists, I will continue to speak out for peace and human rights in Kurdistan and elsewhere in Turkey, in an effort to raise international awareness."@en1
