"I would like to thank the authors of this report. It sets out a humane and compassionate strategy on migration and asylum. EU Member State governments, including the Tory government in the UK, should take notice and adopt this approach, instead of talking about macabre dental checks for children.
This shows that EU institutions set out a plan, and national governments must therefore take action. Refugees are often subject to horrific abuse on their journeys, particularly vulnerable families, women and children. The EU and Member States must cooperate with third countries to provide capacities to deal effectively with refugees, while upholding their fundamental human rights and provide access to education, healthcare, and economic inclusion. We need to make sure that EU actions are in no way implicated in human rights violations in third countries, and that we continue to promote conflict resolution, sustainable development and dialogue to bring peace to war-torn regions."@en1
