"UKIP voted against this non-legislative and non—binding report. The report contains various issues with which we cannot agree, such as the creation of migration channels into the EU. It also supports EU NAVFOR and freedom of movement, to which we are opposed. We are, however, supportive of various humanitarian aspects, but believe that the current EU approach is misguided. Support for genuine refugees would be best served with increased support as close to the country of origin as possible, to facilitate their quick return to their home country once the immediate danger has passed.
There is already a well-established and supported international regime for refugees, which should be adhered to, in particular in that asylum should be granted in the first safe country."@en1
