lpv:spoken text	"I supported the objection because I believe the Commission’s implementing decision is not compatible with Union law. As well as that, there was no agreement among Member States in the Standing Committee to approve this product, mainly due to the lack of long-term feeding and toxicity studies and insufficient risk assessment studies. I would also like to stress there are still important data gaps in the risk assessment of these GM maize crops and authorising their release in the environment would contradict the precautionary principle. For all of the above reasons I voted in favour of the objection, plus the fact that I do not support the introduction of GMOs into the European Union."@en1
