lpv:spoken text	"I supported this objection because there are concerns that the implementing decision by the Commission is not compatible with Union law and there are concerns over the EFSA risk management process. More specifically, the Commission bases its argument for authorisation on the concept of a level of ‘acceptable local mortality’ of non-target lepidopteran species (butterflies and moths), which is considered by some to be a flawed interpretation of EFSA advice. In addition, there is the possibility of cross-contamination with an ancient maize variety that carries major risks for farmers and the environment. For all of the above reasons I voted in favour of the objection, plus the fact that I do not support the introduction of GMOs into the European Union."@en1
