"Madam President, I want to say thank you to the many ‘black protest’ Polish women who have come here today, and with whom I and others stand in solidarity, speaking up for women’s rights, which are most definitely human rights. You come from all walks of life and many of you have never been active in the public sphere before. You are different ages and from different socio-economic backgrounds and I know that because we have met today. Faced with the worst kind of misogyny, repression and violation you have found your voices and here in the European Parliament you have found a place to amplify that voice. You are now empowered and you must take courage and continue to occupy public space with your powerful, beautiful, creative actions because the women who come after you and the women and girls in other countries who are also depending, who are also under attack from the right-wing repressive policies, they are also depending on you to lead the way. Thank you. Continue to speak up. Together we can be strong."@en1
