The file seeks to create a base standard for the provision of legal aid and the quality of the legal assistance provided. The file also seeks to ensure that in the case of European Arrest Warrants, legal aid is accessed from the issuing Member State. Whilst I am disappointed that the report did not include provisions for persons before their liberty is suspended, the final report is still positive and a step in the right direction."@en1
