I would like to say that, faced with the decline of the rural post office network, I would be eager to emphasise the value and the presence of our postal services, which are indeed changing but are nonetheless vital to our communication sector and in terms of employment. The 2008 Third Postal Services Directive encouraged the completion of the internal market in this domain. However, in line with this report, I would call for the Commission to assist Member States in their efforts to implement such policies effectively on a national and regional level. We appreciate the vital role that this sector plays in the spheres of communication and employment whilst also boosting economic and territorial cohesion across the EU and in the single market."@en1
