"I voted in favour of this proposal which aims to build an Energy Union with a forward-looking energy and climate policy. In my view energy efficiency is a crucial element of a strategy to tackle climate change. An effective energy efficiency labelling policy will provide and has provided citizens with a deeper understanding of the products’ impact on the environment and of their life-cycle. The evaluation of Directive 2010/30/EC highlighted a number of deficits. And addressing them could lead to an important step towards additional energy savings."@en1
