"This report calls for swift and full integration of refugees into the labour market and for their social inclusion in accordance with the principle of equal treatment and non-discrimination. The report calls for a much-needed European approach to address key issues such as access to education and training, non-discrimination, health care, labour and social protection, and the recognition and validation of skills and qualifications.
A key aspect of any strategy is ensuring that families are able to be reunified and that the situation of vulnerable groups (particularly those with disabilities, women and children, and especially unaccompanied children) is addressed. Human dignity of refugees must be at centre of any strategy – and they must be allowed to gain economic independence and significantly contribute to their successful integration into the host societies.
This report addresses many of these aspects, and along with my Labour colleagues I voted in favour of it."@en1
