"Madam President, can I say, first of all, that now is not a time for recrimination? As Mr Juncker said, where is the plan? The truth is they never expected to win, and the truth is, neither London nor Brussels had a plan, has a plan, and they now have to go and construct that plan.
While Northern Ireland voted to remain within the European Union, I have to say I respect the United Kingdom as a whole, as a nation-state. We stand by that. There is no question of anything else for Northern Ireland, difficult though it will be for us. The UK decision must, in my opinion, be respected. There will be many twists and turns on the rocky road ahead that we now have to travel. I have to say to you, Mr Tusk, that you have a massive responsible role to play here. Mr Juncker, to date, your comments and actions have not been helpful and, Sir, you are part of the problem and maybe not part of the solution. Can I say to this House that it was a massive mistake to send David Cameron back to fight the referendum with one hand tied behind his back? Do not make that mistake again."@en1
