"First of all, of course the United Kingdom would be able to do that itself. My understanding is that the UK is not opposing action on this, it just wants to do it in a different way to the rest of the European Union. We would find out whether the British Government is hiding behind that, using it as an excuse back home, or whether it really means it. And no, of course a UK that was free to make trade deals across the globe, a UK that had our democracy back, had our sovereignty back, had control of our borders, a UK that had the freedom to look at the wider world would not be a UK that would mired in nothingness.
