"Satellite technologies are a vital part of the modern world, for instance if you are setting up a small business or buying goods on your smartphone. The UK works together with the rest of the EU to deliver high quality satellite networks which keep our economy running.
Without the EU, Britain would not be able to build and operate a satellite network fit for our economic needs, and that is one of the myriad reasons why we must remain a member of the EU. However, this non-legislative report offers ideas which could interfere in what should be Member State or industry driven activity, and this lead me to abstain on the final vote."@en1
