lpv:spoken text	"I supported this report which highlights the importance of innovation to sustainable agricultural production and to improving the economic prospects of producers. It emphasises that economic development and sustainable production are not mutually exclusive and that innovation and research and development have a major role to play in fulfilling both objectives. The report points out that small and medium-sized family farms are an integral part of European agriculture and that it is essential that the benefits of advanced production techniques reach them too. The same applies for producers in disadvantaged regions such as mountainous and outermost regions. The report points to examples of where innovation can be applied to agriculture including ICT-based management systems and sensor technology. The need to facilitate the access of farmers to investment financing is also highlighted."@en1
