lpv:spoken text	"Mr President, in this report can I in particular draw attention to paragraph 74 which talks about risk-based analysis and independent scientific evidence? In this House we need to look at and debate the difference between a hazard and the risk-based analysis which this report supports and calls for. But I also want to remind colleagues of paragraph 33, where we call on the Commission to ensure that consumers and farmers are sufficiently educated in new and emerging breeding techniques, so as to have an open and informed public debate on these issues. I think that we should be working to make this happen, because in the past we have not had an informed public debate on various technologies, which has led to resistance and indeed sometimes total objection to them. I do not want this to continue happening."@en1
