"I voted against this report because significant efforts are already being made through the UK Grocery Adjudicator and Grocery Code to address unfair trading practices in the UK market and I feel that a European framework could undermine the hard work already being done under this national scheme. My colleagues and I also feel that the ‘own brands’ component is a particularly negative development because such brands offer alternative routes to market for producers, such as Marks & Spencer, whose products are popular with consumers and give them a wider variety of choice."@en1
