Member States themselves provide the best means to address these issues, rather than an EU top-down approach. I also note that supporting attempts to tackle poverty and encourage development through aid, trade and investment is a key issue and the UK is playing an important role in supporting these efforts through continuing to meet its aid budget targets and working closely with its international partners."@en1
