"UKIP voted against the enhanced co-operation process in the area of property regimes of international couples.
Firstly, ‘enhanced co-operation’ is nothing more than a means by which sovereign Member States are pressured into falling into line when they are able to exercise an effective veto on such legislation applying to them. Secondly, this matter presages the development of a pan-EU law of family property and law of succession in relation thereto which will supersede national law. Thirdly, this matter is the precursor to legislation by the EU. UKIP remains committed to opposing, in principle, all legislative acts by the EU."@en1
