lpv:spoken text	"It has become clear that, with the growth of virtual currencies such as the bitcoin, the distributed ledger technology behind it will impact on both the financial sector and beyond. As with any new technology, there are both opportunities and risks. But this is not about stifling innovation – this report proposes that we should be smart with regulation, not heavy-handed. Instead, the rapporteur (my S&D colleague) proposes a precautionary monitoring approach and includes updating the existing Money Laundering Directive. For these reasons, I voted in favour of this report."@en1
