The full implementation of this directive would give hundreds of thousands of fathers the ability to spend quality time with their new children after birth. The Labour Party believes that everyone, regardless of the employment sector they work in, the type of contract they have, or the gender that they or their partner are, should be guaranteed the right to parental leave without discrimination."@en1
