lpv:spoken text	"I voted against this proposal which is part of the EU’s 4th Railway Package. The overall aim of the package is to move the sector in the direction of a single, liberalised railway sector. This proposal, in particular, is directly concerned with opening up national markets in order, it states, to make railways ‘more competitive’. It is aimed at increasing economies of scale for railway undertakings and increasing reliance on the European Railways Agency in that regard. Given that all of this contributes to the overall aim of doing away with the Commission’s perceived ‘hidden discrimination’ against companies wanting to enter the market, I voted against. I believe that it is for Member States to take decisions on these matters and to retain control over the sector, given the vastly different ways that is it run."@en1
