"This joint undertaking (JU) is aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the drug development process for the production of safer innovative medicines. While the accounts gave a fair representation of the joint undertaking’s financial position, the ex-ante control performed by the joint undertaking’s Scientific Project Officers (SPO) did not clearly identify and comment upon the status of the project and its deliverables, and payment was made without an official listing of deliverables accepted by the SPO and without any reference to the assessment of deliverables by the SPO. Therefore I voted in favour of discharge but abstained on the approval of accounts."@en1
