"While I support the 2014 Discharge for the European Railway Agency, I would reiterate the following observations found in the Draft Resolution on performance, financial management and control of EU agencies. The ERA ensures the safety and interoperability of the European Rail System, but if it receives further responsibilities it will need to be given the necessary financial, material and human resources to perform its new and additional tasks effectively and efficiently. I encourage the Agency to collaborate with Member States to increase the number and quality of railway projects throughout the European Union, which would support an ever closer union."@en1
